Beyond recounts and fear…
Beyond grief and liberal tears…
There are hearts,
And there are voices.
There are marches from coast to coast.
There is the intense sound of unity,
And the joy of anger.
There are poets writing sonnets of resistance.
There are musicians composing a soundtrack
To our rebellion.
There are a thousand Donald Trump piñatas
And they have all been set on fire.
There’s a speak-out on the campus.
There’s a gathering on the bridge.
There’s a protest on the freeway.
And none of it is ending soon.
