ISSUE 5: Poets In Unity - Responses to the Election of Donald Trump / POETRY

“Election Day” by Ian Holloway

I saw a wall of hate
Before my senses- gutting me
Crushing my bones
and my being, withering
my range of motion
Into a formless pulp.
In a subtle instant,
a turbulent chasm erupts
in the fabric of my
soul and pure heart.
Soliciting violence and
embracing despair,

Ten million White hands.
